Fourth Open Competition

The fourth and final Open Competition of the present season was held by the Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club on Wednesday 12th March. The judge on this occasion was Mr Derek Stratton of North Tawton who was kept busy with an excellent entry of 60 prints overall and 26 slides.

Mr Stratton helpfully made comments before the judging commenced regarding aspects he particularly looked for in a good image, saying that it had to be more than just technically correct. He was looking for thoughtful input from the photographer making the image pleasing to the eye and more than just a record shot. These points were ably demonstrated when he commented on each individual entry.
