Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club held their first meeting of 2008 on Wednesday January 9th. This meeting was the first at the new regular venue of the Village Hall extension in Holcombe, between Dawlish and Teignmouth. This is a brand new suite named after its benefactor, Joan Copp, that has been added to the existing hall and promises to be an excellent venue for the club.

The meeting, which was very well attended by both club members and welcome visitors from Paignton Camera Club, was an opportunity to see some excellent Audio Visual sequences produced by club members as well as some by members of the Paignton club and sequences that had previously been entered in Western Counties Photographic Federation competitions.

A wide range of subjects were covered in these presentations, including images of Australia, South Africa, various parts of Europe as well as ballet, the history of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway, Classic Cars and a number of very interesting short miscellaneous subjects. The evening was organised and presented by Mr Ernie King, a past chairman of the club, and proved enjoyable to all who attended.
