A Presentation by The Club's Standard Workers

"The Club's Standard Workers"
This Wednesday Dawlish and Teignmouth Camera Club were entertained by their own Standard Workers, these being relative newcomers to the Club.

Paul Lawson opened the session with a few of his prints, some old and some new including some that had been printed for display on hard polycarbonate and acrylic. Roger Smart’s presentation included prints of the last display by Harrier Jump Jets, the sunrise from Mamhead, and others that showed an aptitude with black and white portraiture.

Eddie Crawford displayed his creative interpretations of street scenes and people taken particularly in Teignmouth and Spain. Denise Searle concentrated on images taken in the Pyrenees in conjunction with her other interest as a high level walker and Colin Carter took us back some thirty years to photographs taken in his College days before bringing us up to date with his modern digital creations.

Jon Pitt stayed close to home with close up views of the bugs in his garden, including a squeamish view of a spider preparing to devour a trapped wasp. Finally, Dave Hutton, showed an audio visual which summarised his work in categories ranging from landscapes, nature and people.

Founder member, Tony Wilson, concluded with a vote of thanks that summarised the general view that the presentations were of excellent standard, the Club’s future being safe with such quality coming through.

Next week (Wednesday) the Club hold their final competition of the season when Max Danby of Torquay will decide on the winner of the Image of the Year in different categories at Holcombe Village Hall (7.30pm).
